Dwight Golan is the recipient of the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dwight Golann is Professor of Law at Suffolk University in Boston, where he teaches dispute resolution and negotiation. Professor Golann is an experienced mediator who has successfully mediated hundreds of legal disputes, including commercial, employment, business tort, product liability, personal injury, insurance, intellectual property, real estate, environmental, construction and securities cases.
He serves on the panels of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution of New York, the ADR Center of Rome, and the US-China Business Mediation Center. Professor Golann has trained judges and lawyers in mediation skills for trial courts, the U.S. Department of Justice, the European Union, the J.A.M.S. national panel, and state and national bar associations.

Before becoming a neutral, Professor Golann practiced as a civil litigator at a Boston law firm. He later served as Chief of the Trial Division of the Attorney General of Massachusetts where he directed all litigation involving state officials and agencies.Education/Training
Professor Golann became a law teacher in 1986 and a neutral in 1994. He was a senior mediator with the Boston office of J.A.M.S., and later trained panelists for that organization. He now maintains an independent mediation practice.Professor Golann’s book Mediating Legal Disputes won a national award for best book published in the field of ADR. In 2005-2006 he co-authored new texts on dispute resolution. He has produced videos on mediation skills and advocacy distributed by the American Bar Association and Harvard Program on Negotiation. Prof. Golann is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School, and is an Honorary Member of the College.
